David designed a house for me and the process involved converting two old houses into a modern light house. It was very complicated given flying freeholds, shared underground sewers and manholes, and the constraints of the site on the waters edge. Engaging an architect to design and build your dream home

We quote against the RIBA Plan of Work 2020, and in essence we work in the following work stages, as outlined below. We will advise you of the work stages which may be relevant for your project.

Preparation and Briefing

Organisation of surveys, such as measured building survey or topographical survey. Client Meeting to discuss briefing.

Concept Design

Prepare Concept Designs and undertake design review with client. This stage often culminates in the submission of a Pre-Application Enquiry to the Local Authority for an informal opinion.

Spatial Co-ordination – Planning Application

Designs are developed to create a package of information suitable to submit a Planning Application. This may include work from other consultants, which we will advice you of, to support the application. We can assume the role as Agent for the Planning Application, or work with a Planning Consultant if necessary.

Technical Design

Prepare Design Information for the Construction of the Project. Advise on procurement method of the project, and tendering process. Submit Building Regulation Application.

Manufacturing and Construction

Our services are available to assist clients with their relationship with a Contractor for the Construction Phase of the project. We can offer full contract administration and can happily discuss developing a package that is suitable for each project and client.

Handover and Use

Hand over of completed building project and manage feedback from Post Occupancy Evaluation where appropriate.
